Our Offices
located at The Ronstadt House
607 N. 6th Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85705
This historical structure was originally built by Fred Ronstadt as a present for his new bride, Lupe, in 1904. Its architect was Henry Trost, designer of many of Tucson’s finest homes. It was renovated in 1977, and purchased by David M. Lovitt, Jr. in 2004. The company moved into it in April of 2008. The house is now listed on the National Register of Historic Sites.
Shortly after Lupe Dalton’s appearance at the Ronstadt Company, Fred Ronstadt fell in love with her and she with him. She was twenty-two years old at the time. They were married on Valentine’s Day, 1904, and had four sons by their union: William, Alfred, Gilbert, and Edward.
Fred Ronstandt’s love of music and the fact that he was founder of what probably was Tucson’s first orchestra, the Club Filarmonico Tucsonense, it is not surprising some of his children should have shared that love. Several of Fred’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren continue the tradition. Best known among them is one of Fred’s granddaughters, Linda Ronstadt, who has appeared as a singer in concerts throughout the world, in movies, and on television, and who is one of today’s premier recording artists.
The Ronstandt Family has a tradition of service to our community. During the 1940s through 1960s, the Ronstadt family owned a hardware store on North 6th Avenue, just down the street from where our offices are now.
Just like the Ronstadts, the Lovitt Family also has a long history of serving the needs of the Tucson community. David’s father, David “Mac” Lovitt started his insurance agency in Tucson in 1946. David went to work for his father in 1968 and opened his own insurance agency in 1980, and has built it into the successful business it is today.
